C++ Developer required by established company which provides professional quality software to the photonics industry whose products are now in use by a wide number of telecoms companies and laboratories around the world, helping to develop the next generation of telecoms components. You will be working with a team of the brightest people dedicated to developing new ways to solve even the most difficult of theoretical problems. Photonics software, perhaps more than almost any other, provides enormous challenges to the theoretician and modeller, and also the greatest scope for innovative solutions.
The role will involve:
* C++ application development
* graphical user interface design
* CAD interfaces and algorithms
* wxWidgets
* cluster programming (MPI)
* writing user manuals/documentation
* Visual Studio C++
* Working with and integrating numerical code written by colleagues
* (lesser extent) Linux/Eclipse C++
Exceptional C++ Development experience is essential and ideally you will have performed most of the above tasks. The majority of your software development experience must be in C++ with user interface experience. Academics are important - you will be working with some of the brightest people in the photonics and CAD software industry. You must have the ability and attitude to learn quickly.
